Contacting Your Provider
We always attempt to be accessible for all urgent issues. If your provider is not immediately available by office telephone (412-319-7866), please leave a voice message and we will return your call as soon as possible. Calls are generally returned within two business days, although if medication adjustments are warranted, your provider may request that you schedule an appointment. Please always leave a phone number where you can be best reached. If your call is an emergency, please contact 911 immediately instead of calling the office. Emergency psychiatric services are not provided through Peace of Mind Psychiatry, but are provided by all hospitals through their emergency rooms and do not require appointments.
Please also note that email should never be used for urgent or emergency issues. We cannot ensure that email messages will be received or responded to in an immediate fashion.
Medication Refills
Before contacting Peace of Mind Psychiatry to request medication refills, please contact your pharmacy directly to ensure that you do not have additional refills or prescriptions available. Please note that it may take three business days to process your prescription request. Medications will only be provided to established patients, and in some instances, your provider may request that you have an appointment scheduled before processing refill requests.
Please note that we do not respond to pharmacy-generated automated refill requests.
Late Cancellation or Missed Appointment Policy
In order to provide high-quality care and assure that all patient needs are met, we ask that you provide advanced notice when cancelling or rescheduling appointments. For initial psychiatric evaluations, there is a $150 fee for late cancellations or missed appointments. For follow-up appointments, there is a $75 fee for late cancellations or missed appointments. Late cancellations or missed appointment fees cannot be submitted for insurance reimbursement, and your credit card on file will be charged following a late cancellation or missed appointment. In fairness to other patients' time, if you are more than 15 minutes late for your scheduled appointment, you may be asked to reschedule and will incur a late cancellation fee.
To avoid incurring a late cancellation or missed appointment fee, please assure that notice of cancellation is received at least 48 business hours in advance for weekday appointments. Please note that business hours are considered weekdays from Monday through Friday and exclude all standard holidays. For example, if your appointment is on a Monday, the cancellation must be made by the same hour on the preceding Thursday.
In fairness to other patients and in order to provide high-quality care, repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may be cause for treatment discontinuation at Peace of Mind Psychiatry.
Fees and Insurance
Professional fees are subject to change and reflect the complexity and type of services provided. You will be notified sixty days in advance of any changes in our professional service fee schedule. Payment is due at the time of service.
All patients must have an active credit card on file in order to receive treatment at Peace of Mind Psychiatry. Credit card information will be obtained upon scheduling your first appointment. Alternative methods of payment will be accepted upon request, including cash, check, and debit cards. You are responsible for fees from credit card companies, collection agencies or banks due to non-sufficient funds, payment disputes, or non-payment of fees. A fee of $50 will be assessed for returned checks. Please notify Peace of Mind Psychiatry staff if there are any changes in your payment information or if any problem arises in your ability to make payments.
We understand that every person’s financial situation is unique. If you are having trouble paying your bills, please know that we are willing to work with you to create a payment plan that is fair to both you and Peace of Mind Psychiatry. Please talk with any of the staff or providers about payment plan options that are currently available.
